Keep the Momentum with Immersive Online Training Series 2
Go beyond the essential foundation of Immersive Online Training Series 1 and continue to solidify your knowledge with Immersive Online Training Series 2!
In Immersive Online Training Series 2, you’ll continue your exploration and preparation of the body to develop holistic, comprehensive and effective approaches to working with clients. Your work will expand to 4 additional areas of the body, using critical thinking skills and application of your newly acquired skills - all grounded in anatomy, kinematics and applied biotensegrity principles.
*Series 1 is a prerequisite for Series 2
Here is what we will cover in Immersive Online Training Series 2:
Week 1: Harmonious Hip and Knee
A harmony of motions of the joints of the leg will be explored through movement theory and practical techniques. The knee is the intermediary joint of the leg that moves in relationship with the foot and hip. It is most evident in gait patterning. We will look closely at the knee and hip joint coupled motions and how to change a nonfunctional pattern into a more harmonious one.
Week 2: Intersecting Sacrum
The sacrum is the keystone of the pelvis and the base for the spine. This bone intersects the trunk and the legs. We will look at the fascial connections that cross from the legs to the spine and its the role in gait. We will answer the big question of how the sacrum moves in extension, flexion and rotation.
Week 3: Upper Thoracic Spine Through the Arms
Arm strength develops from the coordination of the thorax, shoulder girdle, and all the way to the fingers. We will observe how the upper ribs and sternum move with the arms, learn movements to assist in improving function of the shoulders and target the most common problems. We will play with arm supports in all planes of motion, including overhead.
Week 4: Diaphragms: Many Possibilities and Relationships for Movement (#somanydiaphragms)
You hear the word diaphragm and you breathe but there is so much more to their function and importance. How many diaphragms do we have? Discover pelvic, thorax, cerivcothoracic and cranial, how their relationship generates movement, breathing and help with spinal motion.
Week 5: Integration piece
This session will bring together the previous four sessions integrating it into your practice. We will move together incorporating all the topics, review what was learned, and experience an individual session using the techniques and movements.

“I work with a number of elderly clients, clients with injuries and movement limitations. As a result of Madeline Black’s training I am better able to assess my clients movement patterns and cue their movements.”
— Leonie Comino, Core Dynamics Pilates & Movement
