Exploring the Dynamics of the Human Body!
Are you curious about spaces in the body? Is symmetry in the body possible? Are we able to create more space in the joints? How does dissection help us understand the body more?
Find out and more in a special, unique class with Madeline Black and special guest, Gil Hedley, a leading voice in anatomy research and known for his unique approach to dissection and his somatic and embodied approach to anatomy.
In this 2 hour class where the mover meets the anatomist/philosopher of the body you will take part in a lively, fun and energetic conversation on human movement, the dynamics of the human form and any and all things related to the body!
Madeline will lead you on the mat for a one hour movement class where you will explore the inner space with a newfound understanding of creating spaces in the body and an appreciation of how anatomy and dissection play a role in movement.

Madeline’s life pursuit is the discovery of how the human body moves. With over 30 years in the field of movement, her curiosity explores all aspects of movement from dance, Pilates, yoga, Gyrotonic®, fitness training to the studies of human biomechanics, human cadaver dissection labs, osteopathic and manual therapies.
She also developed the Madeline Black Method™, to teach movement professionals how to use assessment skills, movement sequences and manual techniques to help people achieve their fullest movement potential. Madeline is also the author of “Centered: Organizing the body through movement theory, kinesiology and Pilates techniques” published by Handspring Publishing.
Gil Hedley, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in theological ethics from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, and also became a Certified Rolfer at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO. His combined interests and training has supported his personal exploration of the human body and led him to develop an integral approach to the study of human anatomy. Through hands-on human dissection courses in the laboratory and lecture presentations, he has encouraged thousands of fellow "somanauts" to appreciate, explore and embody the wonders of human form. He has also published a number of books, as well as produced The Integral Anatomy Series, a set of four feature-length videos documenting his whole body, layer-by-layer approach through on-camera dissection.
