The Pelvic Star: Pelvic diaphragm connections
Madeline Black invites Marimba Gold-Watts to join her in a master movement class June 13 from 9 AM PDT/12 PM EST-11 AM PDT/2 PM EST. Their common interest is exploring the pelvic star: the neuromyofascial connections from above and below the pelvis that influences movement. The class begins with a discussion between Madeline and Marimba on the impact of breathing, scar tissue, neuromyofascial health of the pelvic diaphragm, post-natal, menopause, hernia repairs and much more that affect pelvic movement patterns. Madeline and Marimba will lead a movement class to access the pelvic diaphragm properly, improve function, and rock your pelvic star. There will be time for Q and A.
Replay available for purchase! Last day to access the replay will be Sunday, 6/20

About Marimba Gold-Watts:
Marimba is the 2018 Winner of the Next Pilates Anytime Instructor Contest. Formerly a professional dancer, she began studying Pilates in 1997 with Wendy Amos. She completed her pilates certification at The Kane School of Core Integration under the direction of Kelly Kane in 2007. After a serious ankle injury (and 4 subsequent ankle reconstructions) forced her to retire from dance, Marimba began teaching pilates full time with an emphasis on helping both clients recovering from injury and on cross-training professional dancers.
In 2012, she opened Articulating Body Inc. in New York City, with her husband Steven Arboleda (an acupuncturist and martial arts teacher). Marimba is a NCPT (Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher) and a Registered Certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist®.
From 2010-2011 she worked as a teacher trainer for the Kane School. She also spent three years teaching at Westside Dance Physical Therapy under the direction of Marika Molnar, where she focused primarily on post-rehab work with her clients. She has studied with Master Teachers Kelly Kane; Christine Wright, Dr. Kate Klemer DC, RCST; Marika Molnar PT, Lac; Madeline Black; Jean-Claude West; Rebekah Rotstein; and Kuan Hui-Chew. She considers her weekly session with Christine Wright vital to her ongoing development as a teacher.
Marimba is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University with a degree in Art History. She has taught Horton technique in the Junior and Professional Divisions at the Ailey School since 2005 and at university dance programs throughout the country, as well as in Italy for the Italian Television series Amici and Tecniche Di Danza Moderna. In her spare time, she loves to run around after her toddler son, cook, watch dance performances, and study Chinese Internal Martial Arts with her husband at Chinatown Internal Arts.
