Side Torso Lifts
You will need a bolster to lie on your side. The bolster is in between the bottom of the ribcage and the top of the pelvis. The lift of the trunk off the bolster is a long torso line, not side bending that compresses the top side of the ribs and increases the pressure of the bottom side of the ribs on the bolster. Start by inhaling into the side of the ribs facing the ceiling. Lift the ribs off the bolster with both sides of the waist long. Think of moving the ribcage toward the ceiling as a unit. Exhale as you rest back on to the bolster. Avoid a side bending creating a C shape of your spine. Finish with a nice side stretch over the bolster. Turn on to your stomach to cahnge sides.
