Side Ribs movement is a side plank with lateral or side to side movement of the ribcage. Allowing for the ribcage to release into gravity opens of the ribs on the bottom side and approximate the top side of the ribs. It also lengthens the fascial connections of the scapula and clavicle to ribs, which at times can be restricted. Moving the ribcage away from the floor, against gravity, pre-sets the muscles that support the arms to the trunk and the oblique muscularture. Lift into a side plank, and hold for a few breaths. A strong and safe way to strengthen the trunk core muscles.
