Rotating Arms is a tension relieving movement for the neck, and shoulders. For tension relief, rotating arms is performed on the floor. This allows for the larger muscles to relax and allow for better joint movement for ease of the neck and shoulders. You may try this seated with your arms out to the side. You will feel that it requires more muscle effort and may limit improving joint movement. If you have good joint movement, it is valuable to do this seated to strengthen the shoulder muscles. Plus if you do not want to lie on the floor, by all means do it seated. It is great to do at your desk! Take a break now and do a few Rotating Arms.
