Black's Immersive Body Training: ENCOMPASS
The body moves in a predictably non-linear way. Madeline Black is developed a series of trainings to immerse the movement teacher into a highly focused and engaging experience to better understand these body movements and patterns. Madeline Black's approach to training is an organic process focused on precision and highly tuned movement techniques. She customizes each segment to match the needs and energy of the participants, which provides a unique experience for each instructor.
Encompass is for trainers, movement educators and mind-body practitioners who are looking for input, reflection and confirmation on the how, why and what you are seeing, sensing and organizing the client’s body during sessions. The work will begin with spinal, pelvic and sacral investigations into the primary link, which is individual, as a catalyst for training adaptability, efficiency and optimal balance. Working with Madeline, you will devise a clear strategy for balancing tissue/bone movements by combining hands-on techniques, a variety of props, resistance work and more. The challenge for you is to bring to this experience the questions and unsolved client puzzles and engage with other intelligent movement professionals to expand your work.

Encompass Day by Day
Day 1: The focus will be identifying influences in the body through observation and movement that inhibit or unlock the ability to move fully.
Where is the inhibition coming from? Is it the feet, shoulder or diaphragm? The process will be one of discovery and finding a primary link that unlocks the pattern. Madeline will guide the observing and feeling of movement patterns through simple and efficient assessment skills, the strategies for an approach and teach specialized techniques.
Day 2: Sacrum-Sternum: Movement relationships of these bones and surrounding tissues with the pelvis, spine, and ribs
Madeline will bring a better understanding and felt sense of the integral role the sacrum and sternum plays with allowing motion and support of the spine. Madeline will teach movement techniques, hands-on work and applying these principles into your sessions. The deep structures will be address, core link above and below the diaphragm, such as psoas/ligament/fascial ring of the trunk, thoracic inlet and deep pelvic bowl.
Day 3: Holistic training: Multi dimensional movements that incorporate the structural and functional change into a movement experience
Madeline will continue the work from day 1 and 2 bringing it into a session perspective. Teachers will participate in the direction of this day leading into the two practical days.
Day 4: Four hour day with the intention of practicing techniques and dialogue
Day 5: Four hour day sessions, receiving and giving sessions
